About Claudia Quintaba
I am a senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill studying Public Policy (BA) and Economics (BA), with a minor in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics. I grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, and graduated from Walnut Hills High School as a member of the Cum Laude Society in May of 2021. I was recruited to row for the UNC Division I Women\'s Rowing Team. Since arriving at UNC, I have made the Dean’s List every semester, achieved the ACC Academic Honor Roll, received the Perfect 4.0 GPA Award in Fall 21’ and 22\', received the Scholar-Athlete Award for the 20••••22, 20••••23, and 20••••24 school years, made the All-ACC Academic Team, was named a 2024 CRCA Scholar Athlete, a Chi Alpha Sigma Inductee, a Phi Beta Kappa Inductee, and captain of Carolina Rowing as a rising junior and senior. At UNC, I have also pursued my passion for leadership as a Veteran Leader and mentor in the Richard A. Baddour Leadership Academy and the ACC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Additionally, I have furthered my commitment to service as a Buckley Public Service Scholar and engaged in fundamental moral discussions as a Parr Center for Ethics Recruit. I see every stroke I take on the water and every policy brief I write as a learning experience and a chance to show my coaches, teammates, peers, and professors my commitment to hard work and high-quality results. My passion for the law began in high school when I joined the Mock Trial team and led the team as co-captain to two State championship competitions. I furthered my interest in the law, Public Policy, and Economics by taking challenging courses in college that expanded my knowledge and appreciation for the subjects including Analysis of National Security Policy, Legal Philosophy, and Decision Models for Business and Economics. I continued developing my oral and written communication, analysis, and research skillset through my work at Young & Associates and my internship with the City of Cincinnati’s Office of Budget and Evaluation. I am a driven student-athlete committed to academic and athletic excellence. I balance a rigorous academic schedule with a demanding practice load. No matter the situation, I work hard to find new ways to produce efficient, accurate, and thorough results. I\'m eager to move forward with the same dedication and passion.
