WORK HISTORY
Doctoral Researcher @CERN
Geneva, CH
Selected for CERN IdeaSquare’s 2025 PhD Summer School on experimentation-driven research methodologies- Worked on experimental research design cases, translating complex innovation problems into testable frameworks through prototyping, iteration, and evaluation- Learned from international experts including Jan Auernhammer, Leona Chandra Kruse, Raymond Opdenakker, and Irene Crespo Garrido across design research, design principles, design science, and socioeconomic experimentation- Explored how design science can bridge academic theory and real-world practice by building, testing, and refining research artifacts- Applied CERN’s experimental logic to my PhD on immersive luxury marketing, developing ways to test consumer engagement, brand perception, emotional response, and strategic value in immersive digital environments.

ABOUT CLARESTA DEFA RANTI
Hi, I’m Claresta. I approach marketing through experimentation and work on how perception turns into behaviour.I pay attention to how people respond to visual, narrative, and interface cues and what those responses reveal about meaning, trust, attention, and choice. My work combines experimental methods, design thinking, and consumer behaviour research, including research experience and published paper through CERN IdeaSquare in Geneva and industry experience with Saint Laurent in London. In my PhD, I apply this to luxury and immersive digital experience: how “premium” is created beyond price, how scarcity and identity translate in digital spaces, and how luxury brands can measure consumer response in the current era.Practically, I diagnose where brand positioning and user experience misalign, design small tests to validate what improves attention and trust, and translate findings into clear recommendations.Selected work includes published research on design thinking, technology adoption, and behavioural experiments. Let’s get connected :)
