Within the Human Health and Performance Medical Operations Group, the Biomedical Flight Controller is the primary Crew Health Care System (CHeCS) Representative for NASA’s Mission Control Center. The general function is to ensure astronaut health and safety by providing operational and engineering support to NASA Flight Surgeons and other mission support representatives. The BME team serves as a direct link between the flight crew and the CHeCS hardware and software that operates on the International Space Station.
