As a strong member of the Senior Management Team, I am responsible for leading the development and implementation of the corporate business plan for our department, while providing operational leadership and management direction to the Peace Officer program and the municipal Emergency Management Plan. This includes liaising with Council, RCMP, FCSS, Parks & Facilities, Public Works, Finance, Alberta Emergency Management.My responsibilities include:• Develop and implement operational plans to align with the Council\'s strategic goals.• Oversee and direct team members in executing deliverables, assign responsibilities effectively, and lead staff to successful outcomes.• Manage operating and capital budgets, including responsible accounting and asset management.• Coordinate mutual aid and service agreements with regional partners.• Administer joint agency public education opportunities.• Advise, develop, and implement policy and administrative directives in accordance with legislation.• Develop municipal bylaws and public safety programs.• Lead team members in creating and actioning public education initiatives.• Prepare and deliver public presentations, media interviews and reports.• Manage staff recruitment, training and development, evaluation, and occupational health and safety systems.• Coordinate conflict resolution and public complaint investigations.• Collaborate with multiple stakeholders in a variety of public protective services.• Member of the municipal emergency management preparedness team, including Incident Command System instructor.• Engage in and enhance strategic organizational planning as member of the senior management team.• Community Peace Officer and Commissioner for Oaths.
