ABOUT CLARENCE CHAU

Hi, I’m Clarence. I’m a Software Engineer passionate about building impactful full-stack applications and solving complex technical problems. Most recently, I worked as a Software Engineer Intern at Shopify, where I contributed to the POS Design System, helping build and improve internal tools that power merchant experiences.‍ Previously, I interned as a Data Engineer at Scotiabank, working on enterprise data lake migration and pipeline testing. I also worked as a Software Engineer at Moneris, contributing to a TypeScript/React/Java project and later supporting QA automation using Cypress and Cucumber. Earlier in my career, I worked as a Full Stack Developer at Aireum, where I led the development of an Admin Management System using React and Firebase. Outside of tech, I’m a competitive badminton player and former #1 ranked men’s doubles player in Canada. Competing at a national level has shaped my discipline, teamwork, and resilience—qualities I bring to engineering and collaboration.
