I am responsible for managing the bank’s software assets throughout their lifecycle, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements, optimizing costs, and mitigating risks associated with software usage. This role involves collaboration with IT, Procurement, Legal, and Software Editor/vendor management teams to create effective software asset management (SAM) processes in alignment with the bank’s strategic goals.Key Responsibilities: 1. Software Asset Management: • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all software assets. • Oversee the entire lifecycle of software assets, from procurement to retirement. • Manage software license agreements, ensuring compliance with vendor terms. Compliance and Auditing: • Monitor and ensure compliance with software licensing agreements and regulatory requirements. • Prepare for and respond to software vendor audits. Cost Optimization: • Identify opportunities to optimize licensing costs by analyzing usage and requirements. • Negotiate contracts with vendors to secure favorable terms. Process Improvement: • Develop and implement efficient SAM processes and policies. • Use SAM tools to track and report software usage. Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: • Work closely with IT teams to deploy software assets efficiently. • Coordinate with procurement and legal teams on software-related contracts and disputes. • Provide regular reports and insights to senior management on software usage and costs. Risk Management: • Identify and mitigate risks related to software usage, such as non-compliance or cybersecurity vulnerabilities. • Ensure secure disposal or decommissioning of software assets.
