ABOUT CLAIRE RUGGIERO

A successful leader combining my engineering skills, business understanding and high emotional intelligence enables me to achieve great results whilst keeping people motivated and engaged. I thrive working under pressure, I am endlessly curious searching to learn new things with a spark of energy that is infectious. I believe people are the most important part of an organisation’s success, either internally or externally. I quickly form strong relationships with others; combining this with my engineering, problem solving mindset and extensive business management experience, differentiates me from other leaders. My experience built over 30 years has two key aspects; business management and innovation. Although often separate career paths, where they overlap is where things really get interesting. To expand:> Business management is about growth. Innovation drives business growth and competitiveness. Introducing new products, services, business models, or processes allows a business to gain a competitive advantage, meet changing customer needs, and expand into new markets.> Effective management is necessary to turn creative ideas into valuable innovations. This involves having the right people, culture, capabilities, structures, strategies, and processes in place to identify, develop, and implement new ideas.> Business models and technological innovations often interact and influence each other. Innovations in technology can enable new business models, while innovative business models can also drive the development of new technologies.> Fostering a culture of innovation is a critical responsibility of business leaders and helps improve employee development and engagement. This includes encouraging creativity, empowering employees, allocating resources, and managing the risks associated with innovation. Therefore, innovation is a critical driver of business success, and effective business management is essential for cultivating and capitalising on innovative capabilities within an organisation. The two concepts are deeply intertwined, with each one enabling and reinforcing the other.
