Lead youth-focused workforce programming to equip young people with the skills, networks, and experiences to pursue high quality career pathways within the Navy Yard’s prioritized sectors. Lead and and deepen the Brooklyn Navy Yard’s deep partnership with the Brooklyn STEAM Center, a NYCDOE high school on site at the Brooklyn Navy Yard which prepares students for careers in high demand fields. This includes convening the Advisory Council of industry professionals and employers, identifying and overseeing the implementation of work-based student experiences, managing the BNYDC partnership with the NYCDOE, and creating the resources for additional future STEAM Centers beyond the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Manage and expand the Yard’s higher education partnerships, including with the City University of New York (CUNY), Pratt, St. Francis, NYU, and other institutions around the city and state. This includes overseeing internship programs for 150+ students per year, creating ongoing applied learning and work opportunities, and maximizing the employer partnerships of higher education satellites located on the Yard.
