The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) is a specialist university-level provider of world class learning for performers and those who make performance possible and creative arts training. Established in 1996 by Founders Mark Featherstone-Witty and Sir Paul McCartney, LIPA is fondly known locally as the \"Paul McCartney Fame School\".Having grown up in Liverpool, it has been an honour to support LIPA HE in a pro-bono capacity as- Chair of the Audit Committee (since 2022 and a Member of Audit Committee since 2013)- Council Director (since 2013)- Co Vice Chair (and Acting Chair during the summer of 2023)- Member of The Nominations and Governance Committee- Member of The Remuneration Committee. As a Council Director, I play a crucial role in steering LIPA\'s strategy, engaging with policy issues and monitoring management performance. With a clear focus on governance, I ensure clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction, holding executive leaders to account and overseeing educational and financial performance to deliver a world class experience for our students.As Audit Committee Chair, I am responsible for best practice Governance and organisational effectiveness of internal financial and system controls. Claim to fame: Walking on stage at the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Hall with Sir Paul McCartney and fellow dignatories and opening up the 2023 LIPA Graduation to a packed auditorium.LIPA Learning Group - since May 2022 on its creation, I have held the roles of Member and Trustee, where we currently have more than 900 studying.
