The IFRS Foundation is a not-for-profit, public interest organisation established to develop high-quality, understandable, enforceable and globally accepted accounting and sustainability disclosure standards - IFRS Standards - and to promote and facilitate adoption of the standards.The International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) develops IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards, and the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) develops and maintains IFRS Accounting Standards. The accounting standards are currently required in more than 140 jurisdictions and permitted in many more.To help deliver standards that drive decision-useful sustainability disclosures connected to financial statements the Integrated Reporting Framework and SASB Standards are now maintained by the IFRS Foundation. The ISSB has committed to build on the industry-based SASB Standards and leverage SASB’s industry-based approach to standards development as IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards are developed.
