We currently represent around US$38 billion of assets under management.As Head of Human Resources, I oversee all aspects of the Human Resources function globally to promote an engaged and connected organisation, where people are enabled to perform at their best. ABOUT CLAIRE CARR
Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to work in organisations that believe in the power of shared values. This has naturally informed my philosophy that core values matter when you are trying to shape and embed your company culture. So too, does being able to see the impact of what you do. No business could achieve anything without the people that work within it and when those same people can clearly see the link between their contribution and what this delivers in terms of business performance, that is truly motivating. At the start of my career, with what was (at the time) a small, innovative IT company, I was fortunate to enjoy a lot of autonomy and to really see the impact of my actions. Moving onto my next role which was with Mars, I was introduced to a values-led ethos and saw the unifying impact that a clear set of principles can have in supporting people to deliver business performance. Though this experience was 20 years ago, this philosophy has since stayed with me throughout my career, and was further strengthened by my time at Capita Consulting when I had the privilege of working in project teams with a great number of talented people as both a consultant and project manager. This allowed me to truly appreciate the power that a common goal, collective vision and sense of belonging brings when it comes to achieving excellence. Returning to a large corporation like HSBC gave me the opportunity to apply these learnings and see the positive consequence of my contribution to the wider organisation. Entrepreneurial spirit is one of iM Global Partner’s values, and it was my own entrepreneurial spirit that drove me to set up my own HR consultancy 10 years ago. iM Global Partner became one of my clients back in 2015, and I can honestly say that working with the company was always a true pleasure, primarily because of the people. As my client grew, so did my involvement, until in 2021 I left the world of self-employment and became Managing Director - Head of HR for iM Global Partner. What convinced me to do this? I have to say, again, that it was the people, along with the values that those individuals embody. I derive a great sense of satisfaction from being part of the team and working to achieve our vision and I’m fortunate enough to be surrounded by exceptional people to help me play my part in building a culture of high performance that is truly born out of the talents, expertise and hard work of the people that are iM Global Partner.
