About Claire Sherman

I am passionate about communication, culture, open-mindedness, travel, and interpersonal connections. Throughout my life I have learned a lot about the importance of understanding other people\'s opinions and backgrounds in order to sustain a significant and productive dialogue. As an English major at a Liberal Arts school, my classes were primarily discussion-based and taught me to articulate my opinions confidently and clearly, listen to other perspectives, think critically and creatively, and use sources to support my ideas. Furthermore, my travel experience has not only fueled my passion for exploring new cultures and lands, but also for understanding other modes of communication and getting outside of my comfort zone. I also love playing lacrosse, singing, being with people, making others laugh, and being active.My time at BNI has been deeply influential and formative. I love serving a global community of business professionals, working with incredibly talented and driven individuals from around the world, enhancing my communications and organizational skills, and deepening my understanding of international business and franchising. At BNI, I currently lead our Global Communications & Events teams, while continuing to support global strategy, team development, special projects, innovation and more. I have also been heavily involved in our M&A integrations, leading that department for 5+ years. Becoming a Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) has supported my development as a leader at a global franchised company. My involvement in development opportunities like the Women\'s Leadership Program ast Yale School of Business (New Haven, 2023) and the Harvard Business School Manager Development Program (Charlotte, 2018) have aided in my understanding of various facets of business and leadership like decision-making, ethics, strategy, teamwork and more. I\'m deeply grateful for the opportunity to work with global leaders every day at BNI, experience the world and our business operations first-hand, and identify ways to further expand and support the global business community.
