About Claire Reilly
I am first and foremost a nurse, a former Resource Nurse in a Level 1 Harvard Affiliated Trauma Unit in Boston, Massachusetts, USA The transition to my current role was preceded by the following experiences, a Clinical Informatics Specialist in Doha, Qatar. My Registered Nurse Training was in the United Kingdom and I left the United Kingdom in 1993 after taking time out to travel the world, destinations including Japan, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, and The South Pacific, heading home through the United States of America which is where I first fell in love with this country and the many opportunities that it has to offer. I truly believe it is \"The Land of Oppotunity,\" within realistic expectations of course. I then took a position in the Emergency Room in Dhahran, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on a Saudi Miliitary Airbase that was also occupied by the British, French and American military during the Gulf War. I thoroughly enjoyed my entire exposure and experience, particularly the culture and all it had to offer. My next destination was Bermuda for eight years of fun, travel and all the fun that life has to offer. In between I returned to Saudi Arabia to work for the oil company of Saudi Aramco on their main compound in Dhahran in the Emergency Room for another 1 year contract. During my time in Bermuda, I extensively travelled North America, studied and passed my NCLEX exam and took the position I have now, with Green Card sponsorship as a benefit and in due course acquired my US Citizenship. Fast forward, I completed my Masters in Health Informatics in 2012 and now enjoy the privilege of my clinical position with a new introduction of exploring the option of Consultancy work of Implementation of Electronic Health Records within the Emergency Room setting. I enjoy the challenge of advocating the future of Healthcare Reform with Healthcare Informatics and my previous experience of Socialized medicine and I believe the combination of both healthcare practices offers a healthcare system for all to have access to.
