ABOUT CLAIRE MATZ
I\'ve always wanted to tell stories. After having worked as an artist in video games and animation, and graduating from Gobelins, Paris, I was recruited by Netflix in Tokyo and worked there with many Japanese animation studios. I started as a visual development artist, but quickly pivoted to a more production-oriented role. As a Production & Artistic Supervisor, I was taking care of the creation of the Netflix Anime Creators\' Base, and building a team of visual development artists to work on Netflix shows. I used to supervise a team of artist in both artistic and production side of things. Then I came back to France and worked for a few years as an independant producer in a co-created company named Yabunousagi, which is now closed - although I continue to produce content for other companies. I also started to contribute to the local production ecosystem, by being part of financing comittees for structures such as Pictanovo, the CNC, or by being a jury member at Gobelins, Paris or Animation Production Days in Stuttgart. As helping and following young talents is also a passion (and a priviledge), I am close to animation schools and always enjoy sharing whatever I can to support students and young professionals (Gobelins Summer School, graduation movies for various schools, etc).
