About Claire Heimbigner

I am an elementary educator with an M.Ed. in Elementary Education from The George Washington University and six years of classroom experience, including four years in 4th grade and one year in Kindergarten. I bring strong skills in classroom management, differentiated instruction, and supporting students with IEPs, and I am especially effective at creating clear, engaging instructional resources that support student independence and understanding. I have worked in co-teaching environments, delivering instruction alongside general education and support teachers, and I value collaboration as a key part of effective teaching. My experience also includes virtual instruction and small-group intervention in diverse learning settings.I hold a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Texas A&M University, with a concentration in Politics and Diplomacy and coursework in Arabic. Growing up as a Navy brat and living in four countries have shaped my culturally responsive teaching approach and strengthened my ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds. These experiences inform my perspective in the classroom and my commitment to inclusive, globally minded education.I value collaboration and leadership and have been actively involved in school-based teams, including the School Improvement Team, Reading Team, and Social Committee. I am proficient in a range of educational technology tools, including SMART Board, Seesaw, PowerSchool, Clever, Canvas, Blackboard, Google Classroom, and Microsoft Office. I am committed to supporting student growth while contributing positively to school culture and collaborative teaching environments.
