I am a highly experienced tourism and hospitality business leader, with a demonstrable commitment to environmental sustainability and rural economic diversity. With a strong entrepreneurial streak, I’ve been instrumental in the development of Glen Tanar Estate since the early 1990s, into a muti-faceted Highland destination renowned for its luxury holiday cottages, prestigious events venue, and award-winning outdoor activities.My overarching objective is to engage with local business, organizations, and the community to achieve responsible development and promotion of the region. With over 30 years’ experience to share, I derive genuine satisfaction from my role as a Venture Mentor where I support entrepreneurs develop their businesses by offering objective and confidential business advice and guidance. I have held a number of board positions, including Chair of VisitAberdeenshire for over 7 years, which focused on the development of responsible tourism for Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.I am currently managing a very productive apiary which is expanding year by year.
