ABOUT CLAIR POPKIN
Clair is a cinematographer working mainly in the commercial, documentary and narrative film fields. His recent credits include National Geographic’s Oscar and Emmy winning feature length documentary: “Free Solo”, Davis Guggenheim’s recent Netflix series “Inside Bills Brain”, HBO’s “Jim: The James Foley Story”, winner of the Sundance Audience award in 2016 as well as a primetime Emmy. Other titles Clair has shot include: Netflix’s Abstract: The Art of Design as well as HBO’s King in the Wilderness which premiered at the Sundance film festival in 2018. Clair has shot many other feature documentaries and TV shows. He has also lensed commercial projects for many clients including Apple, BMW, Yeti. Clair has shot projects in over 30 countries around the globe.Clair splits his time living between New York and Los AngelesClair won a Primetime Emmy in 2019 for Outstanding Cinematography in a Nonfiction Program for his work on Free Solo, for which he also won the Cinema Eye award for Best nonfiction Cinematography.
