ABOUT CIPRIAN CIUBOTARIU
In my last 2-3 roles I\'ve been developing in-house linux PaaSes (platforms as a service) on different cloud providers (and some less-cloudy providers). They differed a bit in detail and functionality but ultimately their goal was to abstract away the infrastructure messiness from development teams and provide a consistent and secure way of developing, building, deploying and monitoring services. Added bonuses were things like the ability for teams to self-service and the apps to self-heal and auto-scale.Before that, I\'ve been administering hoards of linux servers, so some of the same above things, but in a less-automated fashion, and not as cloudy.A non-exhaustive list of things I\'ve messed around with- XEN, VMware, VirtualBox, KVM- load balancing with nginx, apache, haproxy, varnish- chef, puppet, ansible, saltstack- SMTP:(Postfix, Sendmail, qmail)+ spamassassin, dspam, amavis, clamav, DomainKeys, RBLs- nagios/icinga, mon, snmp, munin, cacti, sensu, kibana- splunk, logstash, elasticsearch- cloudy clouds (AWS, Google and a bit of Azure), custom (based on eucalyptus and later openstack)- VPN:(L2TP, OpenVPN, IPsec, tinc, ssh vpns, gre and sit tunnels)- containerisation: Docker, LXC- kv stores and queues: Redis, Memcache- DB: MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL- Serverless: aws lambdaGood understanding of PKI infrastructure (SSL certificates) and symmetric-key crypto.Programming and scripting knowledge (in order of preference and experience)- python, with django, bottle and flask for web and REST APIs, and fabric for automating simple stuff - bash (I know, I know, not a programming language. Only including it in this list because I don\'t know where else to put it)- ruby - mostly for CLI apps and modules for puppet and chef - C, C#, java - already forgotten. Haven\'t developed many things outside of school or one-off tiny projects in these languages
