Responsible for the planning and implementation of Title V, a $3M Grant from the U.S. Department of Education. The purpose of Outreach FAMILIA (Forwarding Academic Mechanisms Integral to Learning In the Academy), is to expand and enhance institutional capacity to increase the number of Latinx and low-income students entering higher education and earning postsecondary degrees. Sub Awards to local high schools, titled “Los Gatos Hispanic Serving Pathway” will fulfill this purpose by (1) expanding quality dual enrollment pre-calculus mathematics courses and (2) creating an outreach program at participating high schools. Collaborate with UArizona and K12 partners to actively improve the college-going culture and continuity of family engagement and outreach. Develop and initiate coalition building around the topics of equity and access to higher education such as dual enrollment, family engagement, and the support of advancement for Latinx students.
