ABOUT CINDY ROSE MISENA-VILORIA

I am a graduate at the University of the Philippines Manila with a Bachelor\'s degree in Industrial Pharmacy and a Master\'s degree in Occupational Health. My work scope is in Academe, Research, Regulatory Affairs and Product Development. I have an in depth knowledge in regulatory matters particularly dossier evaluation and analysis of veterinary drug products and household hazardous urban pesticides having been in this field for two decades. I have also attended both the FDA QPIRA Trainings in Drugs and Household Urban Pesticides. In terms of research and product development work, I have honed my skills in handling both suppliers and clients queries regarding quality assurance/quality control (i.e, matters encompassing isotonicity, dissolution, assay computations and product impurities). I also have a first-hand experience in operating laboratory equipment such as IR Spectrophotometer, Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS), and HPLC. Furthermore, through my academic training in Occupational Health, I have equipped myself with knowledge in Hazard Analysis and creation of health and safety program fit for company\'s need. I attended an on-the-job training at Franke Philippines, a Swiss company manufacturing stainless steel equipment such as kitchen setup of known fastfood chains. I, together with my partner, formulated and launched a PPE program to better improve the then existing health and safety culture of the company. As for my career goals, I foresee a long-term practice in Regulatory Affairs and Research, which I hope to handle not only veterinary and household urban pesticide dossier but also other products under FDA and Health Canada regulations (e.g, human drugs, cosmetics, food, clinical research and device) both local and international setting. Also, I would like to be part of health and safety advocacy, may it be through research or seminars, to help enlighten workplaces and every employees on its significance in their business and in their lives. Lastly, I would like to pursue a career in academe to be able to share my knowledge and experience to the young generations.
