ABOUT CINDY STEGMEIER
I am a calm and respected leader with extensive experience in civic government in the areas of housing, facility management and capital development. Building on my interior design degree, I have a passion for strategic planning (and monitoring), project and change management, data management and reporting, as well as empowering teams to their fullest potential.I thrive on tackling complex issues with a collaborative mindset, and my ability to forge strong relationships and partnership through authenticity and curiosity, empowers me to understand diverse perspectives and influence at all organizational levels. Some of my key strengths include:• Creating alignment through a collaborative approach• Remaining calm and levelheaded, even in times of adversity• Providing clear direction and information that allows for informed decision-makingExamples of my strengths in action:• During the 2013 flood, I led a project and team to establish four service counters across the city within a 16-hour day, during a time of intense turbulence. The broad stakeholder communication required included levels up to the City Manager. Returning to the office the next day I entered to a room full of applause. This was a proud moment for me, knowing I played a key role in the City’s response to a historic event and supported citizens during a time of high need.• While at Mount Royal University I successfully led the drafting and approval of a monumental campus space utilization policy. Prior to my efforts, the policy had been discussed for nearly a decade with numerous drafting attempts by senior-level leaders. It was deemed the most complex policy the university had encountered and involved stakeholders across the institution. I was recognized for my collaboration, grit and determination in getting it not just approved, but also implemented. When not hard at work, I enjoy reading about brain sciences, playing beach volleyball, pampering my dog, or planning my next trip. Feel free to reach out and send me a message!
