I began my career in 1984 working as a Cashier & A/P, then moved up to Car Accountant, Biller, & Payroll. During this time, duties included Month-End processing, GL Reconciliation, Financial statement submission and assisting outside audits using the Reynolds & Reynolds DMS.I then began my career with The Reynolds & Reynolds Co, as a DMS Conversion Implementation Specialist and Trainer. Specializing in Accounting, Payroll, Sales, and F&I departments. Styles of training included One-on-One In-Person, Virtual, Group In-Person and User Groups Seminars of up to 200 people.After R&R, I went on to work for a CPA firm Henry & Horne conducting compliance audits for Sonic and AutoNation, along with consulting and training of best practices to our Automotive Clients. Including Manufacturer specifications, DMS software usage and Controller / Accounting functions. Such as: Month-End processing, Cash Flow & GL reconciliations. Duties also included audit and data analysis for Buy/ Sells and DMS conversion assistance.Additionally worked for ADP / CDK, a DMS provider. There I continued my training / DMS conversion / implementation career. I specialized in Accounting and Migrations.I moved onto Van Tuyl /Berkshire Hathaway Automotive as an Internal Auditor in which duties included training of new audit staff and conducting the following types of Internal Audits: compliance, trial balance, cash, payroll and sales tax audits for the 80+ stores and reporting to the outside audit firm.After BHA decided to outsource the IA team, I began at Penske Automotive Group as West Region Accounting Manager. There I worked with the Executive team doing Data Analysis, Financial Reporting, GL recs, Compliance training, Internal Audit, Buy / Sells, Project Management and other projects as requested. This included all areas from software to vendors to financial reporting. Once an issue was identified, I would create a road map, identify best approach and map out the implementation of that process take on project management to completion. Worked with outside vendors as well to ensure best practices per the P&P were adhered to.Specialties: 35 years of Consulting, Training and Internal Audit for Automotive Dealerships. Areas including: Accounting, F&I, Fixed Ops, Payroll, and Sales, DMS Conversion / Implementation and Buy/Sells. Expert at Reynolds & Reynolds and CDK. Some DealerTrack software knowledge.
