ABOUT CINDY SALAZAR

I love to smile and make others smile, I found myself smiling more around kids, so I became a teacher. My journey began in 2013 when I joined California Teaching Fellows Foundation and was placed with an awesome after-school program team, which we are still very close friends till this day! Throughout my time there I worked at multiple schools and positions as well as being a substitute teacher for FUSD and CUSD. When I graduated from Fresno State in 2016 with my bachelors in communication, I met JDT Consultants Inc. CEO, Jana Todd, joined her team and provided therapeutic behavioral services for youth that were experiencing significant emotional/ behavioral challenges as well as providing caregivers with effective parenting strategies. My time there was invaluable as I was given a positive work environment, continuous trainings and workshops as well as working with youth, caregivers, educators and mental health staff throughout the Central Valley. While providing intensive, individualized, one-to-one behavioral mental health services I simultaneously co-taught in Fresno\'s Teacher Residency Program (FTRP), a joint effort between Fresno Unified School District and Fresno State completing multiple subject teaching credential and Master of Arts in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, May 2019.I am currently a 4th grade teacher and just finished my first year teaching during a pandemic! Starting my second year and excited to use this platform to showcase my work. Stay tuned!
