ABOUT CINDY MONTANEZ
TreePeople is one of the fastest growing environmental movements. We are headquartered in Los Angeles where we have accelerated our impact and quintupled in revenue since I joined as CEO. We organize thousands of people to plant and care for trees in their neighborhoods, schools, parks, and local mountains and forests. We acquired a Land Trust in 2019 to directly preserve and protect open space, including over acres of precious natural lands under our direct stewardship. We are leaders in implementing nature-based water, green infrastructure and school greening projects. My experience as an activist, local and state elected official, energy/water executive and policy maker trained me to build highly-effective teams, successful partnerships, and models for collective climate action and equity led by diverse people and funders. I live for social justice, equity and tangible impact.
