Responsible for but not limited to the following:• Work with International Contract Manufacturers to meet monthly and quarterly on time delivery.• Maintaining a high level of inter-departmental customer service, solving transportation problems and issues for Adtran’s Supply Chain and external customers.• Expediting, tracking and follow through delivery of time sensitive material for both domestic and foreign suppliers.• Freight approval and departmental allocation.• Tracking and routing international/domestic shipments with TL, LTL, Steamship and Airfreight Carriers/Forwarders.• Assisting with Harmonized Tariff Classifications, Export Control Classifications, Commercial Invoices, Certificate of Origins, custom compliance issues and documentation needed to successfully clear shipments for imports and exports.• Assisting Finance group with Letter of Credit documentation.• Creating benchmarks and measurable standards to track transportation patterns. • Establishing and implementing departmental criteria for the purchase of transportation services.• Implementing and maintaining a Centralized Transportation Management System by creating Freight Routing Guide for Domestic and International shipments.• Approve and audit an average of 10 plus million dollars of freight invoices for rate and discount accuracy per year.• Establish key Carrier Performance Metrics, monitoring, grading, and giving feedback to the carriers for improvement.• Creating quarterly reports, gather statistical data, developing spreadsheets and databases necessary to facilitate transportation management.• Damage reports, notation and documentation.• Claims documentation and recovery.
