Manage the Purchasing Department with the primary responsibility of ensuring material availability to support the production schedule for our offsite government contract business and onsite manufacturing at 4 plants. Also responsible for purchasing of R&M and Production Maintenance.• Work with 3PL, Freight Forwarder and various transportation companies to negotiate shipping rates on incoming purchase orders, drop ships to subcontractors and shipments to end customers both domestic and international, to achieve savings and stability.• Develop goals and objectives to align with Corporate G&O’s for direct reports.• Ensure compliance with Government requirements for materials on various contracts.• Place purchase orders with suppliers for the procurement of materials required for production at subcontractor locations.• Manage inventory levels at all offsite locations.• Determine and establish optimal inventory levels based on forecast, demand changes, and material lead times.• Manage and resolve issues regarding PO to invoice discrepancies, returns and quality problems with suppliers including supplier corrective actions.• Work with team to enable and promote Continuous Improvement and Lean/5S.• Internal ISO Auditor, 5S Auditor
