ABOUT CILLIAN CONCHÚIR
In college I started my own newspaper and after learning the basics of TV production at New York University, I started my own TV production company to understand every facet of the industry. I wrote two grant proposals for which I received €100k per documentary, a feature length & a four-part series. I got five-time Emmy-winner Robert Abbot as Exec Producer for the former and got the backing of the three biggest sporting bodies in Ireland for the Men in Black; GAA, FAI and IRFU. In that process I learnt everything from writing briefs to organising and filming shoots to the final edit. I interviewed all contributors for the proposals and therefore got in-depth access from the team and contributors in each documentary. I have 10 years’ experience conducting interviews with Irish international rugby and football players and other athletes in Irish sport. I’ve experience across print (writer, sub-editor for newspaper & magazine editor), online (content manager) and TV (Director and Producer and editing).
