ABOUT CHRIS JACKSON

As an experienced entrepreneur, Team Coach, mentor and educator, I work collaboratively with individuals and organisations to develop proactive, self-navigating entrepreneurial teams. If you\'d like to explore how you can begin this journey with your organisation with a bespoke learning programme, let\'s start a conversation.After a formal training in electrical engineering, I started my first business, moving into the field of physical security. The organisation grew successfully over a number of years, employing a well-trained and motivated workforce and operating nationally. I also became involved in various business and enterprise support initiatives and worked with small - medium enterprises and young people in education to promote entrepreneurial thinking and growth.In 2001 I gained a Masters degree in Entrepreneurship from Durham University Business School, sold my business, and embarked on a quantum lifestyle change, pursuing a new venture in marine tourism and then latterly marine scientific survey. Throughout this time, I still continued to work in business support, while learning very different skills and working in a challenging yet highly rewarding environments.2015 heralded another change and I began working in HE, subsequently becoming Programme Leader delivering a BA(Hons) degree in Team Entrepreneurship. This programme is based on the Finnish Team Academy (Tiimiakatemia) model, where the entire process is based on \'learning by doing\'. This has allowed me to develop new insights into learning, building a strong collaborative network of contacts globally. Specifically, I gained experience in delivering and researching how team coaching can be used to encourage learning in an academic environment. During this time I also developed and delivered various enterprise and entrepreneurship related modules up to Level 7 (Masters), and co-wrote an MSc International Business which was commended for its innovative design.As well as running my own not-for-profit organisation, I have experience working in the CDFI sector, encouraging small enterprise start-up and community initiatives.
