About Ciera Leciel

I was born and raised on Duwamish land. I graduated from Mount Holyoke College (MHC), with a dual degree in Sociology and Architecture. During my time at MHC I became interested in the intersection of art and climate justice, along with furthering my passion for equity work within communities of color. During my time on campus, I was a Volunteer Coordinator for Circle K, where I collaborated with community partners to identify and address community needs. As well as connected Mount Holyoke students to organizations in the Pioneer Valley and held volunteer events at the local organizations. I also worked at Nurturing Roots, an Urban Black-led Farm in Seattle, WA. Nurturing Roots emphasizes self-sufficiency, empowerment, and environmental justice, which deeply resonates with my beliefs. In my position as a Volunteer/Community Specialist at EarthCorps I collaborated with community members, empowering BIPOC youth, and helped to form strong coalitions to fight for a more just and equitable world. In my position at King County in the Volunteer Program Assistant role I am continuing to build community and connect people to the beautiful pacific northwest I call home!
