ABOUT CIARAN HARVEY
I am a business leader with recent Senior Managing Director and CIO roles in complex, international organisations. Transformation, bringing creativity and positive change are in my DNA and I’m a lifelong techy at heart; from when I was a child I’ve been trying to get everything to run faster, smoother and better. I am really proud of what we have achieved within Prudential Financial. I led the establishment of Pramerica, a 3,200-person organization which has delivered best-in-class software development, IT support, financial and professional services to all of Prudential’s business units and customers globally. I have driven the business and evolved the business model from a service center into a profit generating and digital organization, with an entrepreneurial, innovative culture. Setting up the El Paso, Texas site as Prudential’s new Business and Technology Solutions Center gave me great experience in creating – and maintaining – best practice, as well as living and working in an entirely different culture and business setting. In my current role I have oversight of over technology driven projects annually – and the organisation is well-positioned to become more agile and nimble whilst achieving excellent financial performance. I thrive in environments that are stimulating, with intellectual challenge and possibility. I naturally prefer low-ego situations, but am fully able to navigate highly sensitive and political issues. I’m a firm advocate of ongoing professional development and have benefited personally from senior programmes including the Prudential-sponsored executive development program for next C-suite executives at the Kellogg School of Management. I enjoy mentoring and ongoing coaching of current employees as well as individuals from outside my immediate professional sphere. Honest conversations and authenticity are key for me – I will always be clear and realistic, and I expect the same from colleagues and business partners.
