About Ciara Metcalfe
Passionate about turning scientific discoveries into life-saving medicines.My journey in cancer research has taken me from South Africa to San Francisco via the U.K, spanning diverse oncology fields: Wnt signaling in colorectal cancer, Hedgehog and PI3K pathways in medulloblastoma, and Hormone Receptor signaling in breast and prostate cancers.My role as Biology Lead for Genentech\'s Estrogen Receptor program has provided the opportunity of a lifetime. I\'ve stayed closely connected to our lead molecule from pre-clinical research through first-in-human studies and into pivotal clinical trials. Along the way I’ve been extremely fortunate to work with phenomenal individuals and teams across Genentech and Roche, taking our scientific learnings from breast to prostate cancer, and shaping our strategy for future investments in oncology.
