ABOUT CIAN WALSH
Cian Walsh is a third-year Government and Political Science student at University College Cork. He is currently Secretary of the UCC Government and Politics Society and a Quercus Active Citizenship Scholar as well as a Quercus College Scholar. He is also a member of the Leadership Council of SDSN Ireland. In 2024/25, Cian was UCC Students’ Union Environmental and Sustainability Representative and Co-Chairperson of the UCC Green Campus Committee. Cian most recently worked with FoodCloud as Advocacy and Activism Intern and is the Founder and Project Co-lead of the UCC Students’ Union Food Pantry. Internationally, Cian has served as a delegate to COP28 with ECO-UNESCO and COP29 with UCC, and he was a member of the Irish delegation to the 2024 World Food Forum with the Department of Agriculture. He also serves on the Organising Committee for World Food Forum Ireland and as a Public Participation Network Representative to the Strategic Policy Committee on the Environment, Water, and Amenity of Cork City Council.
