About Chukwudi Emmanuel Ewa
I am a Nigerian Genealogist and family history researcher specializing in African ancestry. I hold a Certificate in Family History Research from Brigham Young University–Idaho (BYUI) and am currently furthering my studies at BYU in Provo, Utah to deepen my expertise in genetics, genealogical research, and historical documentation. I served as a Virtual Genealogy Consultant for FamilySearch, assisting researchers across Nigeria and other African countries in tracing their lineage. I have also had the opportunity to present for the Society of Genealogists, and MyHeritage Family Tree Webinars, sharing insights into the unique challenges and opportunities in African genealogy. I have worked on a number of Genealogical Research Projects and Volunteered for organizations and events such as AncestorsUnknown, FamilySearch and The Transatlantic Genealogy Summit.I have witnessed firsthand how challenging researching African ancestry can be and through my research, advocacy, and education, I am committed to making African genealogy more accessible and ensuring that African family histories are preserved and celebrated for future generations.
