ABOUT CHUKWUDI CHRISTOPHER OBETA

I have 17+ years cognate North Sea, Niger Delta and Middle East siliciclastic and carbonate petroleum system experience gathered from onshore, swamp, shallow and deep offshore activities through assignments with IOCs, NOCs, Independent Operators, Service and Consulting firms. My experience spans exploration, field development and management, operations, reservoir modeling, HSE and technical leadership roles. My current role as Senior Reservoir Engineer for ADNOC Offshore at the ExxonMobil Technology Center include direct stewardship of the construction and history match validation of dynamic models of super-giant, geologically complex carbonate reservoirs. I utilize these models to support corporate short- and long-term business objectives, advise management and influence the direction for life cycle resource optimization through FDP, risk and uncertainty analyses/mitigation, field management and surveillance support. My contributions routinely unlock significant value and save millions of dollars through the optimization and improvement of field development and reservoir management strategies. I have strong commitment to the mentorship and technical development of young professionals in addition to demonstrated ability to work with multi-cultural teams and build strong professional relationships. I am passionate about safety and currently serve as company HSE personnel at ExxonMobil Tech. Center. I am a recipient of ADNOC Group and Departmental awards for excellence, creativity, project stewardship and multidisciplinary collaboration. I have served in several SPE program committees in the past, including recently as a technical program committee member for ADIPEC 2019. Key part of my professional experience involves participation in strategic professional courses in Venezuela, Abu Dhabi, Germany, UK, The Netherlands, Austria, Canada and USA.
