ABOUT CHUKWUMAOBI IBE
I work as a Senior Project Lead for Sustainable Energy and Construction at Cornwall Council. My role involves leading and coordinating sustainable construction and energy efficiency initiatives, fostering relationships with residents, stakeholders, and partners, and ensuring the delivery of housing, and infrastructure projects that align with the Local Plan and Strategic Economic Plan.In addition to my role at Cornwall Council, I am a PhD researcher and graduate teaching assistant in the School of Engineering and Built Environment at Sheffield Hallam University and a member of the Social and Economic Research Institute (SERI). My research focuses on repurposing construction waste to reduce the environmental impact of building materials, with a special emphasis on using digital technologies like image-BIM deconstruction and 3D modelling to optimise the recovery and reuse of building components.
