I teach beginner to advanced classes that help people interested in photography get the most out of their camera. I blend technical knowledge with showing them how to have fun while doing the best work they can do. It works out beautifully because I find that teaching helps me refine my own skills, make new friends, and in some cases make a real difference in people’s lives. My students are diverse: young and older, curious leaners to working photography professionals and everything in between. Wherever they are in their path, I help them move up to the next level.When teaching, I am aware that it’s about more than photography as a skill. It extends beyond the camera and it involves awakening vision, passion, art, and exploration. A few years ago, a student came to class to learn how to use her new camera as a complete novice. Just recently, she published her first photo book. It’s a really nice photo essay on dogs that go to work with their owners and she is already working on her second one. I love that through photography, I am helping people in a way that will make a difference in the rest of their lives. Is it time to for you explore?
