In a career of over 15 years in executive-level legal and policy counsel roles in tech and telecom, I have expertise at both external public affairs work and internal compliance counseling. That includes program implementation, product counsel, and transactional support, as well as legislative analysis, policymaker engagement, and supporting communications teams.I also have 5+ years in people management, including hiring, balancing workloads, leading through situations with calm, clarity, and emotional intelligence, fostering enthusiasm, managing budgets, and supporting career development.My multi-faceted expertise consists of the following: Product counseling on privacy and security, managing privacy compliance teams, cybersecurity counsel; Partnering with business leads to develop strategic recommendations, policies and processes; Championing internal cultural transformation efforts and corporate social responsibility initiatives; Creating and presenting internal trainings and external thought leadership communications.By drawing on these skills and expertise, I have driven the following illustrative impacts: Led development of a Responsible AI program at T-Mobile. Drafted policy, standards, and adapted privacy impact assessment and ‘privacy by design’ processes; Visualized and implemented multiple process improvements for incident response, privacy and cybersecurity compliance, and legal review of supplier and partner contracts, including new templates; Founding Board Member of the Global Network Initiative. Represented Microsoft in the work forming a leading multi-stakeholder organization championing human rights principles for the technology sector, and lead work implementing those principles into Microsoft operations. Managed the annual US-China Internet Industry Forum, a Microsoft-sponsored event convening US and Chinese gov\'t, business, academic and NGO leaders for candid dialogue on privacy, online safety, and other policy issues. Provided policy counsel on identity, authentication and age verification. Presented solutions to regulators, including US state AGs and child safety advocates. Counseled Microsoft identity product teams on law and policy.Based in the Seattle area, with work experience in Washington, D.C, Silicon Valley, Europe and Asia. Outside of work, I teach cybersecurity law & ethics at Seattle University, and create and perform music I\'m the author of \"Whitewash\"(a novel), an outdoor and fitness enthusiast, and a directionally challenged golfer.

Adjunct Professor co-teaching two courses: 1) Cybersecurity Ethics, focused on tools to analyze and address ethical challenges in a professional cybersecurity setting, and 2) Cybersecurity Law and Planning, focused on practical application of cybersecurity laws, compliance counseling, incident response procedures, cybersecurity law and public policy. Partnered with colleague to create syllabus, reading assignments, and to grade exams and assessments. Present 150 minutes of instruction per week; support student development.
