ABOUT CHRYSTEL OLIVIER

I obtained my Ph.D in entomology in France in 1992, worked several years as an entomologist in France and Congo, and as a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Saskatchewan and in AAFC-Saskatoon. I was hired in AAFC-Saskatoon as an entomologist in 2001 and has been working since then, on epidemiology of phytoplasma diseases affecting oilseed, cereal crops and fruit trees. My area of interest is epidemiology and control of plant diseases transmitted by insects and my area of expertise is in phytoplasma detection, identification and characterization in plants and insects using molecular and electron microscopy techniques. I am particularly interested in the use of seed treatments as a control for insect vectors.
