About Christy Staudt

Professional transportation engineer with 27 years of experience in public and private transportation planning and design. I have worked for a variety of clients including municipal, county, state, non-profit, private (developers) and community advocacy organizations on a wide range of transportation engineering and planning tasks. This unique blend of experience has afforded me an opportunity to see project benefits and impacts from both sides of the table and allows me to effectively assist with project and stakeholder consensus building. On a personal note and as a professional, I am passionate about providing engineering and planning services that go beyond our traditional focus on ‘motorized’ vehicle capacity. While highway capacity is a critical element to a thriving economy, our past approach to planning has often resulted in high speed, high capacity roadways that often divide communities and limit safety and access for healthier, more affordable travel options by foot, bicycle and transit. This often limits independence and access for the individuals in our society that may not drive, including our aging population, low income populations and our children. I seek to plan and engineer transportation systems that align with livable community initiatives in a manner that balances the needs of all road users.
