About Christy Lotz
Accomplished ergonomics engineering consultant with experience managing large-scale ergonomic initiatives across numerous industries. Supports ergonomic project deployments, performs ergonomic risk assessments and on-site data collection, facilitates Humantech’s Risk and Performance Improvement Deployment™ (RAPID) Team Events, redesigns workspaces, performs client research, and facilitates group training sessions. Helps companies link ergonomics and cost savings in terms of productivity, quality, and health and safety. Worked extensively with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Europe in 2007. Clients in 2008 include Bemis, Caterpillar, Eli Lilly, Genie Industries, Hospira, Procter & Gamble, and Toyota Motor Manufacturing. Prior to joining Humantech, Christy worked as a consultant with Queen’s University (Kingston, Ontario) Ergonomics Consulting Program, where she performed office and manual material handling assessments and led training sessions. As a university student, she participated in Humantech’s internship program, collecting and analyzing client data. She also spent time as an ergonomics and biomechanics Research and Teaching Assistant at Queen’s University, overseeing labs, analyzing data, and speaking as a guest lecturer on the topics of ergonomics and biomechanics. She was involved in various projects at the university, including analyzing a personal lift-assist device to be worn by workers performing manual material handling tasks. She has presented her work at national and international conferences and her work has been published in the Journal of Electromyography and Kinesiology.Specialties: Ergonomics, biomechanics, human performance, lean manufacturing, six sigma, cost justification, continuous improvement, change management, and project management.
