ABOUT CHRISTOPH ZINDEL

The combination of medicine and technology has always fascinated me. When I worked in surgery, I enjoyed that I could apply both in a practical way, providing help and seeing the beneficial results for the patient immediately. Because of my medical background, I can also strongly relate to healthcare professionals’ challenges and their ultimate goal – to deliver value-based healthcare. Having developed software solutions myself for many years and managed R&D at Siemens Healthineers, I grew passionate for the exciting opportunities provided by the digitalization in healthcare. As a former member of the managing board at Siemens Healthineers, one of the world’s leading MedTech companies, I’ve been able to advance the fields of diagnostic imaging and advanced therapy through technology and innovation borne of precision medicine: digitalization, standardization, automation and AI-assisted care.I strongly believe healthcare needs to be accessible and affordable for every person, no matter where they live. Digitalization, AI-based innovations and robots can offer huge opportunities to people who typically have no or limited access to care. I am passionate about increasing access to care, environmental protection, and Diversity & Inclusion and that was my motivation when I led and helped establish the Siemens Healthineers Sustainability program.Even in my spare time digitalization and innovations play an important role, when I enjoy from time-to-time sessions in a full flight simulator.
