Most people think leadership belongs at the top of the pyramid.I help leaders prove it can happen at every level.For more than 25 years, as a Diplomat and Special Agent, I worked in some of the most complex environments in the world, helping organizations prepare for crises, navigate risk, and make high-stakes decisions under pressure. Today, I focus that experience on a new mission: developing leaders who can influence outcomes and strengthen organizations from wherever they stand.I am the Founder of CrisisLead, where I help organizations navigate risk and prepare for what’s next through security governance reviews, crisis management exercises, executive advising, and leadership development.I am also a keynote speaker and author focused on one central idea: leadership is not defined by title—it is defined by influence. My keynote message challenges leaders to scale influence, expand capacity, and lead at every level.My book, Scaling Pyramids – Leadership Lessons from a Mid-Level Bureaucrat, explores how leaders can grow their impact inside complex organizations by focusing on three core disciplines:lead yourself, lead others, and lead your organization from wherever you stand.In addition to my speaking and consulting work, I contribute to the broader profession as a co-author of the Organizational Risk Culture Standard, helping organizations move beyond compliance toward cultures that integrate risk awareness into everyday decision-making.Across all of my work (consulting, coaching, writing, and speaking) I am guided by three values:Explore.
