I oversee a comprehensive, service-oriented, and active department, and am expected to provide technology vision, leadership, and guidance in support of the Washoe County School District’s mission to enhance student instruction and business operations. As CIO, I administer all Information Technology Department related services with an equity focus, which include strategic planning, project management, policy alignment and governance, academic program and operational support, staffing, scheduling, user and application support services, network communications, and budgeting to accomplish the goals and objectives for the second largest employer in the State of Nevada. A career educator, I previously served as school librarian, secondary social studies teacher, elected union officer, chief negotiator, and grievance chair, as well as football and wrestling coach in my native Michigan.
