Within my role I have amassed the following expertise and work profile:* Insolvency law including acting for insolvency practitioners and litigation funders.Notable cases include successfully defending an appeal to the High Court regarding a County Court’s decision to refrain from setting aside a statutory demand and obtaining a £7.5 million settlement from directors in respect of a misfeasance claim.* Drafting and advising on commercial agreements including complex contract negotiations; trading terms and conditions; software development, maintenance, integration and licence agreements; franchise agreements; commercial agency and distribution agreements; outsourcing agreements; and internet and e-commerce terms of business including compliance with consumer protection, data protection and privacy legislation. Principal areas of speciality include acting for clients in the information technology, manufacturing and recruitment sectors.* Dispute resolution and litigation including conduct of actions from initial letter of claim, through to multi-track trial and High Court appeal. Principal areas of speciality include breach of contract cases as well as indemnity and compensation cases under the Commercial Agents (Council Directive) Regulations 1993.* Intellectual property advice and assistance in respect of application processes, enforcement and commercialisation. Principal areas of speciality include advising upon trade marks, copyright, passing off actions, confidential information and domain name abuse.
