About Christopher Nelson
Christopher Nelson is a passionate architect, artist, and designer based in Brooklyn, New York, with over 20 years of experience in the architectural industry. Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Christopher\'s journey into architecture began in high school when he seized the opportunity to design his first house. His college experience at the University of Minnesota was a pivotal moment; while he initially aspired to balance a Division 1 football career with his architectural studies, he quickly recognized his true passion lay in the creative process of design. This realization led him to focus on architecture, complemented by a minor in studio arts. For Christopher, architecture is much more than constructing buildings. It intertwines knowledge of codes, design concepts, art, history, and environmental awareness, all aimed at enhancing the health and happiness of those who inhabit the spaces he creates. His commitment to making a positive impact through architecture fuels his daily inspiration.Drawing from a diverse range of influences, including hip hop, deconstruction, graffiti, abstract art, surrealism, urbanism, and modernism, Christopher infuses his creative projects with unique perspectives that reflect his development as an artist. He believes that holistic strategies are essential for optimizing the use of time, money, and natural resources in architectural practice. With two decades of experience in realizing large and complex projects, Christopher has honed an ability to streamline the design process, allowing him to envision and execute innovative solutions while understanding the practicalities of construction.

RA is the name for all creative projects created by Christopher Nelson AIA NCARB, an artist, architect and designer. Originally created as a t-shirt line, the brand came to represent the creative projects that span art, architecture, music and design.I am strongly interested in designing energy efficient, modern spaces and the potential to design small (or tiny) spaces in any environment makes architecture an essential tool to addressing climate change and the evolving relationship between living, work and play.
