Chris is a passionate advocate for design excellence in the public realm. He is a strong promoter of sustainable city building whose professional goal is to make great urban neighborhoods and public places. In nearly 20 years of practice Chris has been an innovator on several large-scale projects, including the New York City 2012 Olympic Bid, the rebuilding of the World Trade Center site after 9/11, and the revitalization of the Toronto waterfront.Under Chris’s stewardship, Waterfront Toronto has received more than 60 national and international design awards and nominations for its master plans, parks, and streetscape designs. Chris frequently speaks about planning and design at conferences and professional organizations across North America. He has taught design at the graduate level and regularly contributes to design studios focusing on waterfront revitalization.
