As a current intern at Heim Bearings, I support various ongoing engineering projects. My responsibilities include- Designing tooling to measure roundness, surface roughness, and radii on complex bearing components, ensuring quality control and compliance with aerospace standards- Running and optimizing engineered grind cycles to increase machine efficiency and cycle times without compromising part quality- Organizing departments and workflows to streamline operations and boost productivity on the shop floor- Troubleshooting machines and resolving mechanical or process-related issues to minimize downtime- Using SolidWorks to design new tooling and fixturing systems that enable machines to run a broader range of parts, expanding the plant’s production capabilities.This role provides me with hands-on experience with manufacturing engineering, CAD design, and real-time problem-solving in a fast-paced industrial environment.
