Improving college enrollment, tuition revenue, and retention.With less time on campus, more time working to make ends meet, and a decline in social skills, college students are more isolated than ever. This isolation pushes them out of college. Only 14% of college students say they know their peers well, and yet 82% wished they knew them better.(Nearpeer, 2017)With Nearpeer, college students are more engaged with their peers and more committed to their college (or university). Nearpeer reduces incoming student dropout (called “melt”) and improves academic performance. Students are better supported by their peers, which also promotes ongoing retention and degree completion. Our platform includes student mobile apps and a peer network with machine learning that fosters healthy engagement between students based on shared context, background, interests, and classes.
