ABOUT CHRIS ECKMAN

I’m a senior software engineer and data-focused developer with deep experience building, integrating, and optimizing systems for large enterprises and government agencies. Across roles, I’ve worked hands-on with Python, Java, C/C++, Airflow, AWS, Google Cloud, Jenkins, and a range of databases and BI tools to solve concrete operational problems: automating provisioning, cleaning and migrating data, integrating monitoring and ticketing platforms, and improving performance of production systems.Much of my work has centered on IT service management and customer support platforms—designing and implementing Remedy-based applications, building real-time integrations with systems like Tivoli, Clarify, NetCool/Visionael, and internal CS tools, and developing utilities for data validation, auditing, and configuration drift detection. I’ve led or contributed to major implementations for organizations such as Verizon, Lucent, Ellie Mae, Accela, the U.S. Army, multiple federal and state agencies, and large commercial clients including Dell, Cargill, and others.I also have a strong track record of developing tooling that makes teams and customers more effective. This includes Python and Jupyter-based analysis tools shared internally and with clients, Airflow DAGs to drive automated testing and data pipelines, debugging and self-service features used heavily by Encompass customers, and dashboards in Tableau and Power BI that surface key operational and usage insights. Several of these efforts have been recognized with internal awards and have produced measurable impact, such as sharply reducing server validation time, cutting ticket volumes, and shortening data transfer and onboarding cycles.Underlying all of this is a practical, customer-centered approach: I spend time understanding how systems are actually used, where they break down, and what information people need to do their jobs. I then design and deliver targeted tools, integrations, and automation that fit into existing workflows and make them faster, more reliable, and easier to support.
