About Christopher Dussel

After multiple ER visits in my early childhood, I had the desire to become a doctor. The physicians who helped me through an otherwise traumatic experience sparked my interest in seeking a medical education and emergency medicine residency training. Early exposure to business operations at my parent’s farm led me down a path toward leadership. The combination of my medical training and business interest opened the door to many leadership opportunities, including my current role as Chief Medical Officer. Along the way, I’ve had excellent mentors and teachers. I’m grateful for their support and encouragement that led me to where I am today. I hope to continue paying it forward by mentoring students and residents and providing EMS education to local fire departments. I consider myself a lifelong learner, constantly seeking new learning opportunities. Recently, I participated in the University Hospitals Physician Advancement Program, which further developed my communication and problem-solving abilities. As I further progress in my patient-centered leadership journey, I am hopeful to continue clinical medicine, treating patients with the same level of compassion that I received as a child in the Emergency Department.
